Donovan Leitch on Pop

"Pop is the perfect religious vehicle. It's as if God had come down to earth and seen all the ugliness that was being created and chosen pop to be the great force for love and beauty."

  1. I picked up a DVD - 'a film about JIMI HENDRIX' cheap recently. They interview all the great and good about Jimi though the flick, and eventually get to Linda Keith, who actually recognised him first.

There used to be an expression 'the beautiful people'.

Linda was one of those. Obviously a little stoned, yet instantly attractive to look at and with a voice that suggested education, sophistication and the kind of sexiness that Austin Powers can only dream of.

Somewhere in the last 40 years pop has been badly derailed (not to be taken too seriously).

  2. That is utter blasphemy! To think that God would use 'pop' music to bring beauty and love to the earth is a ridiculous notion that only a depraved mind could ever possibly come up with...

Besides, God sent love and beauty through 'progressive rock', with Dream Theater heralding the second coming of Jesus.

Read your Bibles, people, it's all in there;)
