Chinese Tea with a friend

Thomas and Terri Lynn brought a friend along when they came to visit. Zhang Qun who is over here for an exchange program.

We had previously received a gift of a Chinese tea set from a friend who was working in China for a while, but I didn't really understand all the parts and how to use it. So we asked her if she could show us how.

Wow, she led us in a ceremony with music and meaning and thoughtfulness. It was just a most gracious time together.

Tea will never be the same.

Missing Family

When I miss the kids or my family, I pull up Google Street View and go to the places where they live and just stare, maybe thinking on some level I could catch a glimpse of them. At least it lets me feel closer to them.

Today moms place is on my screen.

a comfort

It's nearly 6 am.
I've been up since about 2 am.
Something I ate I fear. Or maybe something I heard.
I don't know.

So I'm doing some easy work here, online.
Listening to all night radio preachers on AM radio.
Some really good speakers out there.
Encouraging, hopeful.

They are here in the middle of the night, when people like me can't sleep.
And it is a comfort.

Nice.
