I remembered a little cartoon this morning that's relevent to the image. Be patient - lots of explanations:
Andy Capp was a cartoon about a working class northern man. He's permanently out of work (no openings for a treacle bender) always in debt, hard drinking, gambling, fighting and womanising. And 5'3". And always in a flat cap.
His wife Florrie is waiting for him to come home one night. She's stood by the door wearing an old army greatcoat, hair in curlers, one stocking in rumples round her ankles and holding a rolling pin.
In the first box Florrie's saying "It's amazing how we're still together".
In the second box she says "Y'know, he married me for me looks".
In the third box Andy walks through the door. Florrie's eyes are drawn all angry looking, she's showing her teeth and the rolling pin is raised to strike. Andy takes one looks and runs, terrified.
In the fourth box Florrie says "And boy, do I give him some"!
Come on man, her hair's nothing like his!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the ideas. I've been looking for an excuse to figure out how to work this visual editting software I have.
ReplyDeleteSome faces beg distortion. Johanna's pose kind of denies it. I think she is safe!
ReplyDeleteTrue. I could only come up with one good look-a-like. (But I won't say who.)

ReplyDeleteI remember Andy Capp, he used to be in our daily paper here too!
