Some days were just made for Tea

The sky was really low and overcast this morning. It produced a cool rain that made me wear my jacket the whole time, no matter how silly I looked at my desk.

So, I figured I'd go have some tea for lunch, warm up a bit.

I had some Numi tea, "Sweet Meadows" it was called. "Breath embraces the sunshine. I drink the moment." Yeah, whatever.

Except that I was so laid back I missed my ministerial meeting.

  3. Why drink tea if coffee is available? Apparently coffee in moderation is good for you because it's high in antioxidants.

  4. Phil L (not phil): I think you're thinking of tea. I'm not aware of any health benefits to coffee.

  5. Marc: Coffee is a stimulant. Some mornings, if you consider getting up and going to work a good and valuable activity, it may have some health benefits. Poverty is one of the major determinants of health!

  6. A recent medical report came out stating that those people who drink coffee daily actually have a decreased risk of becoming diabetic. But it must be filtered coffee.

  8. Linea: Well, I suppose when you put it that way...

I drink quite a bit of coffee myself, but I have never considered it in a health category with tea. Coffee is more like Coca Cola (which is also a stimulant) to me when it comes to health.

  9. Coffee, no matter how much sugar you put in it will always have that coffee taste. I would rather much drink tea though... with sugar of course or even honey. But people say tea has more caffine in it. You may find this shocking but I have never drank a full cup of coffee in my life.

  10. HEADLINE: Coffee is number one source of antioxidants

"Coffee provides more than just a morning jolt; that steaming cup of java is also the number one source of antioxidants in the U.S. diet, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Scranton (Pa.). Their study was described today at the 230th national meeting of the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society."

"While the findings would seem to encourage people to go out and drink more coffee, Vinson emphasizes moderation. 'One to two cups a day appear to be beneficial,' he says. If you don't like coffee, consider drinking black tea ..."

  11. See, I never need to have coffee to wake me up. I sometimes lie in bed till I feel awak or else I just deal with it. But I feel that everyone should give up coffee for Lent and you will discover as my grade 12A English teacher did that you will never have the need to drink coffee again. EVER!
