My dad died yesterday morning, after a long struggle with illness.
He fought the disease with courage and faith, and in the end he died in the arms of his best friend, my mom.
He"s traveled so far in these ten years and the journey"s been so hard.
He"s finally arrived at his destination.
I"m glad we had Friday together.
Randall it is never easy and there are often few good words to say.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and thoughts for you and your extended family during your movement through this uncharted territory.
Like we prayed this morning at practice, may God be near to you this week as you go through this as a pastor, father, husband, oldest brother, and son. May you find some space for yourself & your own grief even in the midst of all these roles.
ReplyDeleteGod's blessing and peace upon you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI trust God will allow you a special time, just for you, in the coming weeks/months to do some remembering about this marvelous man you called "Dad". May God walk with you closely in these days. My heart is aching too.
ReplyDeleteRandall,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, you are in my thoughts & prayers.
Chris
I remember with gratitude the way you walked with my parents through their final days, and with my family in the following days.
ReplyDeleteMay you and your family be as well shepherded.
I'm so sorry to hear this, Randall. May God have his hand on the small of your back and hold your family in his arms.
