Talking about who is the older son

A couple of Sundays ago I was talking about what it meant to be the older son, when the younger son comes back home after partying his life away.

Sometimes we as a church need to be more like the father than the elder son.

  1. Indeed. But it seems to be so much fun to get all difficult and ranty with people. It must be, otherwise why would we do it?

My present experiences are teaching me about this right now, with a nice little inside perspective too. It's funny too, how I find I can be so desperate to get things sorted with someone that has an irrational grudge, yet when they have been I then feel angry with them. C'est la mort.
