Being a pastor

During the day long ministerial last Thursday, we had a phsycologist speaking with us on a national study that was done partly through his company, having to do with the current status of pastors in North America. At one point he said that the researchers they used who study jobs and work and the like reported back to them that, “There are 64 core competencies for pastors and the required swapping between each competency on any given day, is unbelievably demanding.“
They hadn’t seen that level of demand before.

  1. Who would be a pastor these days? And what do you do if you only have some of those key competencies down to a useful degree, but still feel a need to care for people?

Maybe pastor doesn't mean what it used to mean.
