A new friend

Well, today I found Dean, of Jet's Jersey fame, and offered to take him out for lunch. He kindly agreed to my suggestion! So we hit the lunch rush and got the last available table.

It was a good thing he was interesting cause we had a long wait for our food to come. But it was worth the wait!!

Turns out we have a lot more in common than the Jets. Jazz music, Italian cooking, movies, and God all were explored. Come to think of it, we were sitting there comparing pasta recipe's... sheesh...

Anyway, It was fun getting to know someone new. He really is a cool guy.

Thanks again Dean.

  1. Thank YOU for the invite.

Good times. Good food. Good convo.

    Mmmm...anchovies.

I forgot to mention these delightful little Italian cookies I made the other day. "Ossi di morti" - Bones of the Dead. Oh sure, they're crunchy and not too sweet, but fantastic dipped in milk.

  2. Could you send the recipe this way? I've been looking for a nice Italian cookie to offer up after we do the "Italian" themed meal thing!

  3. 3 large eggs

    2 cups confectioner's sugar

    2 cups flour

    1 tsp baking powder

Beat eggs on high for 5 to 6 minutes. Add sugar, and beat 6 minutes more starting low and increasing to medium. Mix flour and baking powder together and add in thirds. The batter will look like firm meringue.

On a floured work surface roll dough into 4 logs about 3 inches wide by 1/2 inch thick. Cover with a clean towel and let sit overnight.

    Voiceover: "The next morning..."

    Preheat oven to 375F.

Lay logs on a floured surface and cut into 1 1/2 inch lengths. Bake 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet and allow to cool.

Now, mine only took about 12 minutes before they were browning. So I pulled them and they were fine. And make sure to leave a good amount of space between the cookies while baking.

    Enjoy.
