Me this morning upon leaving my house at 6 am

Hmm, I wonder what's that white stuff on ...my ...windshield ...

Oh crap.

I remember now. Ice. I need to scrape it off.

I don't know where my gloves are.

I don't know where my scraper is.

I may have to use my debit card to scrape it off.

(Rummage beneath the drivers seat...)

Ah, yeaaaah, my gloves ...and my window scraper!!!

Now I remember, this is the part of Autumn I hate.

The. Coming. Cold.

  1. Although I was up at 7am, nothing compares to 6am, well maybe 5am. You amaze me, not only because you use "crap" as it's own sentence, but because you just keep on keeping on know matter the day throws you. I know frost isn't the end all, but it can be a huge cherry on a sundae of crap.

  3. Hmmm. not quite THAT cold here this morning, but about 5'C - enough that my face hurt on the bike on the way in this morning.

  5. I love the fall nip in the air, the colours that go with it, the smell of highbush cranberries, the sound of drumming grouse ... unfortunately city life doesn't offer all the benefits of fall. I just hope the colder weather will encourage the moose to be calling when hunting season starts next Monday.

  6. Ice? You do realize it's still September? Here in Toronto I was cursing the fact that my air conditioner isn't working in my car. It's 23 celcius right now. Go east young man!

  7. I'm used to just driving off and instead I'm stuck waiting for my rear defrost to kick in.

    *sigh*

  9. Okay I lived a lifetime in PA. But after 8 years in Yellowknife you get used to the fact that your first snowfall always happens around the last day of September. As I write this I look outside, it is grey, overcast, -9 with the windchill and the flakes are falling. Oh yeah and I have been scraping my windows for the last two weeks. Do I win?
