Note to self

Square plates and bowls take twice as long to wash as round ones do.

Expect to double the time you give to washing up.

This will leave less time for other things like reading, surfing, exercising, laying about, and sex.

But now that we've purchased the new dishware, we are committed.

Don't say I haven't warned you.

  1. Why? I don't mean why the acquisition of the square plates, etc but I am trying to figure out why would the shape influence the time needed to wash them. Larger surface?

This puzzles me - which means I probably should be finding something better to do than ask these questions.

  2. I think it's just that the square bowls sort of have corners now... the plates are alright, but the bowls have the corners that need to be scrubbed. It's less swishing over the surface with the cloth, and more actual scrubbing...

    I think.

  3. Nope.

I mean, maybe for the bowls but,

with a round plate all I used to do was to hold it with one hand and with the washcloth in the other, I'd use one quick clean circular motion and with that one action the plate was clean. Maybe with a really dirty plate I'd repeat the motion.

Now, I need a distinct motion into each corner and one round motion for the middle.

In fact, this may quadruple the time needed to wash the plates...

    hmmm

  4. May I suggest that you don't allow stuff to dry one? Then you can just sloosh once round as normal.

    Always glad to help. :-)

  5. BTW what ARE you thinking of, allowing washing up time to get in the way of sex? Have you no sense of priorities?

    :-))
