By the time I got to the hospital this afternoon I expected to see her sitting up, somewhat ready to go home.
I was mistaken.
She wasn't in any shape to go home, and the Doctor who followed me in agreed.
She's still on IV, and sleepy and in pain.
Can't really swallow or carry a conversion.
So it's better for her to stay another night.
Day two of processed food for us.
Gross.
Still praying. Peace to you, Lauralea, and your family. Rest in God's arms; it's the best place to be.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. I was going to email you today and offer to order you some Science Fiction for supper, but wasn't sure where you'd be or if you'd even be settled at home yet. Anyway... count us in for bringing Lauralea some soup for dinner one night and a couple pizzas for the guys. I hope she's able to get some rest in the hospital, or maybe her floor's less noisy than obstetrics. :)

ReplyDeleteYou know, I thought she looked pretty good for one day post-op for major surgery. And bless her, she has a voice! Tomorrow will be better.

So I will pray that God gives her patience to take it easy and let you guys wait on her hand and foot!
I don't know you or your family and don't want to intrude on such a personal time in your lives, just wanted to say I have been praying for your dear wife, and to say that sometimes the 3rd day post surgery is not a good day so don't be discouraged if that happens. The Lord be with you in mercy and peace during this frightening time.
ReplyDeleteActually, I was quite surprised that there was any question of L coming home the day after such major and intrusive surgery - seems quite normal to me that it will take a day or two yet. But I appreciate how days like these seem to last for centuries - they will pass.
