One of these things is not like the other

Satire: "The literary art of ridiculing a folly or vice in order to expose or correct it. The object of satire is usually some human frailty; people, institutions, ideas, and things are all fair game for satirists."

Now, as far as I am able to tell, this is Satire.

This is not.

From The Way International which seems to have a few of it's own problems besides hiring its choreographer from America Can Dance.

  1. I reluctantly admit that the first song is actually quite catchy.

However, I'm not sure that it's satire. It looks legit to me.

The second song, on the other hand, is definitely NOT satire. Neither is it catchy. But it is irritating in one of that "I can't not watch it" kind of way.

  2. Randy, the first song has really good words , and I have to confess, yes, the music is catchy, and not satiric. The second song sucks. It may be on the satiric side or not. However, I would not go across the street to hear it.

But Marc, you may be correct in it being a legit tune.

  6. #1 is not satire. It's been all over the internet the last few weeks, and somewhere I read the person who did the research and discovered that it was a legit Christian band way back in the day.

#2 was also all over the internet, until it got pulled off of youtube yesterday for copyright infringement. My guess is it'll be pulled off of godtube pretty soon as well.

    Both are equally sucky, though.

  8. Aaaaah...just came by for my morning pick-me-up "Jesus is My Friend". It's just too catchy. And the back-up singers in the back! They're great.

  9. Pardon me while I take a moment to pierce my eardrums with whatever sharp implement I can reach...those were both equally painful however one did have a catchy tune (I do have to agree with Marc there.)
